Dr. Geoff Porter, Ramia Chair in Surgical Oncology

A 2001 recruit to Dalhousie from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, Dr. Porter provides vital leadership for surgical research, particularly in the area of breast cancer and other malignant disease. He is also engaged in identifying barriers to timely and humane access to care, with a focus on how cancer patients can best navigate the health care system. The DMRF is providing interim funding of $50,000 per year for up to five years to support this chair until the endowment becomes self-sustainable.
